Octagon Bespoke celebrates record month

27/07/2020

Reflecting the huge demand for home improvements, Octagon Bespoke are celebrating a record number of enquiries this month, having increased by an extraordinary 50%, with lockdown seemingly heightening many homeowners’ desire to renovate and extend the space they already have.

Laurence Holder, Head of Octagon Bespoke, comments, “With the country confined to their homes over the past few months, it seems that appetite for property improvements has risen substantially. Homeowners have been reassessing their priorities and looking at how they can really maximise what they already have; over the past month, we have had a fantastic variety of requests, from basement extensions to one for one replacement new build bespoke homes. Substantial projects like these can be the perfect option for clients whose property needs may have altered, yet don’t want the effort of a whole property move.”

Whilst perhaps best known for building exceptional, one-of-a-kind houses, Octagon Bespoke have an experienced team dedicated to significant home improvements, taking on projects from £1m. One example currently underway is the complete refurbishment of a Grade II listed regency home in Knightsbridge, meticulously restoring the original elements both inside and out, marrying the design to the neighbouring homes along the terrace. Inside, Octagon are taking moulds of original details to replicate throughout the house, from cornicing to ceiling roses, whilst integrating modern technologies throughout the property such as air conditioning.

Based in Surrey, Octagon have developed an unrivalled knowledge for building on the county’s most exclusive estates, such as St. George’s Hill in Weybridge and the Crown Estate in Oxshott, making them the natural choice for homeowners in these areas wanting a hassle-free, efficient renovation. Meanwhile, Octagon’s scope extends into central London and beyond, covering the Home Counties and Essex. One project currently under construction is a supersized neo-Georgian home in St John’s Wood, complete with grand entrance hall, six bedroom suites, six reception rooms, leisure suite and cinema.

Laurence continues, “When you’re considering a home project, choosing a developer who has experience in your neighbourhood can be invaluable. They will likely already be familiar with the requirements and rules of the local council, from navigating planning permission to understanding installation requirements. Already having this expertise can be crucial in a project, helping to save both time and money.”
