As we head into the final few months of 2023, there’s plenty to reflect upon at the Octagon Group – from site acquisitions, company accomplishments, new land purchases and an exceptional sales record across the year, there’s certainly a lot to celebrate…..
A record week earlier this year saw nearly £12.5m of sales agreed, while more recently, we agreed five sales in just two weeks at our flagship site, Broadoaks Park, which is continuing to take the industry by storm – thanks to its unique and impressive offering.
From Surrey to South West London and a fantastic new acquisition for Octagon, Clarendon Drive in Putney was one of South West London’s highly competitive sites, and I’m thrilled our in-house team of land buyers were able to secure the purchase. We are delighted to be returning to this area of London once again, following the successful sale of Bishops Row, a development of nine townhouses located adjacent the River Thames in Fulham – which all sold in 2020. The expansive properties on this prime residential road comprise four bedrooms, offering 2,500 sq ft of accommodation in this family friendly, Zone 2 property hotspot. We look forward to officially launching these homes off-plan in the coming months.
The Octagon Bespoke team are being kept busy with numerous new projects, which include an extensive restoration on an expansive Grade I Listed home in Surrey. The team have been focusing on retaining yet enhancing the characteristic charm of the home, with standout features including 400-year-old trusses, a working well, and resident peacocks. Groundworks have also begun on a luxury mansion on St. Georges Hill in Weybridge, Surrey, as well as a 7,500 sqft Arts and Crafts style family home in North London, complete with an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
Looking ahead at future developments, we’ve recently exchanged contracts a plot in Sunbury-on-Thames in Surrey and another in Hertfordshire. We look forward to releasing more information on our website when we can, so keep an eye out!
Internally, the Octagon Group is continuing to expand, with the growing pipeline of developments across all three brands, keeping our 110+ employees occupied. This year has welcomed 21 new employees, including our Group Operations Director James Silverthorne, and Kevin Healy as General Counsel. Kevin has worked with Octagon for over 20 years with his previous legal firm, so he is a real asset to add to our growing team. Our land team has also continued to grow this year and we continually search for the very best prime plots across Southern England.
With a calendar filled with events and company days out, our most recent excursion saw over 20 of the team climb Mount Snowdon – a fantastic achievement and a great team building exercise. Slightly closer to the ground, our Summer Party was another huge success, as was our Go Karting day. Some team members are already counting down to the – dare I say it! – Christmas party…
