“Finding the dream new build, with character”

07/03/2023

Lovers of period features and classical architectural design, Kevin and Julie were the perfect clients when it came to Octagon’s latest luxury apartments at Chapel View in East Molesey.

Inspired by its picturesque surroundings, Chapel View is an elegant Victorian-inspired building, housing an exclusive collection of nine apartments with views of village landmark, St Paul’s Church.

Having lived locally for many years, raising their four children and enjoying the wonderful amenities Surrey has to offer, they were looking to downsize from their large Edwardian style home in Thames Ditton, only a few miles away from the development.

Kevin comments “We no longer needed the space of our previous family house but knew adjusting to something smaller would be difficult. We had always loved having character in a home but realised that is not always easy to find when looking for a new build or something that didn’t need renovating. Chapel View looked as though it was going to be totally unique and special, so I was delighted when Bertie Russell at Curchods called me explaining that although the homes were some way off completion, the local interest was already high, and so he suggested an early view of the plans and a visit to the site”.

Octagon are renowned in the local area and we had seen plenty of their homes being built, but buying off plan was not something we had thought about – however Julie and I fell in love with the location and knew it would be worth the wait”.

Ideally placed for the High Street, River Thames, cafes and restaurants, Chapel View has been designed to seamlessly blend with the rows of period properties on Church Road, pairing traditional embellished façade with modern day interiors.

Kevin continues “Being completely unique, each apartment at Chapel View is different in terms of size and layout, and as we were so early we had the luxury of time to change our minds a few times on which apartment suited our requirements best. Having some sort of outside space was essential, so we eventually settled on a 2-bedroom ground floor apartment with a private patio and separate utility room, a rarity for apartments”.

After a patient wait, the couple moved into their new home in late 2022.

Julie comments “We already had a clear vision on how we wanted our new home to look. Whilst we have downsized, the new apartment is over 1,200 sq ft. with lofty high ceilings, plenty of natural light and some impressive architectural detailing; the perfect backdrop for our treasured family furniture which made it feel like home instantly”.

Kevin concludes, “We are in regular contact with the Octagon Aftersales team who continue to ensure that any issues are looked at. Finally, and most importantly we were able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas in our beautiful new home with all the family”.
