Alasdair Galloway, a recent addition to the Octagon Architects team, is already marvelling at the diverse range projects he is getting involved in, from a sizable development of family homes and affordable apartments for the company’s new mid-market brand, Chancery Homes, to a ground-breaking contemporary design for a new super mansion where the spotlight is firmly on fitness. Planned facilities include a copper-lined saltwater swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and wellness facilities rivalling those enjoyed at the finest European thermal spas.

Upcoming sites include a riverside home designed for multi-generational living; grandparents will be regular visitors requiring ground floor accommodation, the younger family members need a serious work-out room, which has been designated to the basement, leaving an ample two further floors of airy space for living and sleeping. Veering back into London, Octagon have also been invited to extend an elegant Victorian terraced house near the legendry Hurlingham Club.  The extension will add an extra floor to give much needed living space, without ruffling the neighbours’ feathers with an oversized appendage to mar their street’s period architecture.
