Spring Update – Tim Banks, CEO

17/05/2021

I think we can all agree that the beginning of 2021 did not perhaps spell the ‘fresh start’ we were anticipating following the rollercoaster of 2020 – but that doesn’t mean things have slowed down at Octagon Headquarters. In fact, the past 12 months have been some of the busiest of our 40 year history.

In addition to working on a record number of Octagon Bespoke projects, we launched a new housebuilding brand, Chancery, as well as an inhouse Interiors division – all while managing to keep the majority of our live sites going, most with very limited levels of disruption. This resulted in our highest number of current homes underway to date, 286 in total – no mean feat in the midst of a global pandemic. We also won a WhatHouse? GOLD award for Hampton Place, and I took part in my first Instagram live…

Back to 2021!

The end of March saw the farewell of two of Octagon’s most recognisable faces – David James, our co-founder who retired after 41 years, and Colin Tutt, most recently The Octagon Group’s Chairman, also stepped down following 35 years at Weir House. Both gentlemen had a profound impact on shaping and building the business into the company we are today and will be sorely missed by clients and colleagues.

Looking ahead and continuing to build from our solid foundations, in addition to the eight new starters we have welcomed over the past year across various divisions in the company, joining the Board is Jonathan Cranley, Sales & Marketing Director and Laurence Holder, Head of Bespoke, whom many of our clients will already be well acquainted with.

Sales have continued at a rapid rate at Broadoaks Park, our flagship West Byfleet development where our Sales Team are offering viewings and appointments from the Listed Sales Suite. We now have the beginnings of a brand-new community forming around the central green, with over twenty residents moved in and more collecting their keys every week.  It is this demand that has secured the early launch of Phase 3 – and already enquiries are flowing for these four bedroom detached homes.

The Cresswells, our duo of family homes in picturesque Winchmore Hill, have both already been reserved well ahead of the planned launch. With plenty of living space and four bedrooms spread across three floors, these south west backing homes will be complete later this year. Work is also well underway at Chapel View – just down the road from our Headquarters here in East Molesey, on the River Thames. The nine luxury 2 bedroom apartments will enjoy beautiful period architecture, in keeping with their surrounding neighbouring homes on Church Road and will be finished and ready to move into next summer. Click through to ‘Properties for Sale’ for more information before these are snapped up too.
