New Build Booster

As home seekers rush to resume the search for their next property, the demand for new-build homes has become even more prominent, with potential purchasers looking for a recently finished, safe and clean home they can move into hassle free – and with peace of mind.

With more than 60 clients requesting a viewing in the week after the government ‘reopened’ the property market, Octagon Developments noticed a surge of interest in their flagship site, Broadoaks Park, West Byfleet in Surrey, where they are building 115 brand new homes over the next few years. They have also seen a record 6 reservations within a seven-day period at the development.

Kati Salmon, Sales Manager for Broadoaks Park, explains; “I have seen the trend changing in the last few weeks – clients are not just wanting to move out of London into the countryside, they are now saying it is equally important that they get a brand-new home. They want everything to be super hygienic, safe and fresh. They also like the idea that a new build won’t require renovation and updating for a number of years to come.”

As well as the increased demand for Broadoaks Park’s well-priced family homes, there has been some encouraging activity in the premium sector, notably the Wentworth Estate in Virginia Water.

Rupert Wyatt, Director at Barton Wyatt Estate Agents who specialise in marketing and letting properties on the prestigious estate, comments;

“Some home owners here wishing to sell their current properties are not keen on seeing lots of potential purchasers at the moment. So, buyers, many with a seemly desire to leave London, see ‘clean’ new empty homes on the Estate as an attractive and uncomplicated option.”

Tim Banks, Octagon’s CEO confirms; ‘’We too have noticed an increase in viewings at Hampton Place which is due to launch this month – located on Pipers End, one of Wentworth’s premier roads which is just half a mile from Virginia Water station.”

Hampton Place is Octagon’s 18th supermansion to be built on the Wentworth Estate, and has a guide price of £8.75m. The six-bedroom family home offers over 11,000 sq ft of living space, including six reception rooms, a state-of-the-art leisure complex with pool, and a one-acre south west facing garden. It also features the latest in-home technology, including a Gartek lift servicing all three floors as well as air conditioning throughout, and the facility for electric curtains on the ground floor and in the master suite. In addition, the property features a sizable one-bedroom staff apartment and an integral triple garage.
