Just when things began to settle down after the December election, a global pandemic hit. 2020 has been a strange and challenging year for us all so far, yet Octagon has continued to do what we do best throughout the last few months of lockdown – to deliver an excellent service to all our clients, with their safety and consideration foremost in our minds.
From late March onwards, the construction industry was inevitably affected by the coronavirus pandemic, so managing build progress with additional safety measures in place, and client expectations on when their new Octagon homes would be complete, was a priority. Our investment in technology over the last 10 years meant that all the necessary infrastructure was already in place to set the Octagon team up to work from home – and with huge thanks to our IT Manager, it enabled us to manage all the procedures necessary to have our properties completed as close to the original schedules as possible.
As our first buyers at Broadoaks Park in West Byfleet have now been advised that their new homes will be ready to move in to from September onwards, construction is progressing well as we make plans to launch the next phase of new homes and sales suite this Autumn.
Our track record for building high quality homes seems to be standing us in good stead, as the level of enquiries and viewings across all our developments has increased, as well as record numbers from potential clients wishing to build or extend their home through our design and build service, Octagon Bespoke. The future is looking considerably brighter, and I believe we are heading towards a busy and productive summer.
