Octagon appoints Commercial Director

Gary Lunn has joined Octagon Developments as their first Commercial Director. Recognised as a true building professional within the industry, Gary is welcoming the challenge of joining what he considers ‘the definitive brand for luxury build’.

“This is a new position at Octagon”, comments Gary, “and I am totally committed to making an effective and beneficial contribution, as the privately-owned company expands its focus to attract a more diverse market sector.”

Gary, who came from a building dynasty, with a glazier grandfather and builder father and brother, was destined to follow in the family footsteps. After leaving school he joined Wimpey Homes in the late 1980’s as one of their treasured trainees, which involved periods at college to qualify as a Quantity Surveyor. This was followed by progressive roles with other developers before eventually joining housing association A2Dominion’s private sale division.

After a decade devoted to establishing a steady profit stream for this division, essential to support the affordable rent and shared ownership sectors, Gary decided the time was right to embrace another opportunity, and the combination of Octagon’s well-earned reputation and new strategy proved irresistible.

This appointment is one of five new positions recently filled within the company, as it gears itself for a steady period of expansion within the UK residential market.
