Greenlight for Octagon’s Broadoaks Park


Woking Borough Council Planning Committee has resolved to approve the revised planning application for Broadoaks Park, located on Parvis Road in West Byfleet, Surrey.


Following a public consultation in March 2018, Octagon revised their plans to meet a number of local residents’ concerns and requests, including a decrease in forecasted road traffic and more affordable housing.


The new plans include:

54 affordable homes, a mix of shared ownership and to rent provided by Paragon Housing.

125 for sale properties, 115 which will be new build, and 10 refurbished and converted from existing Listed buildings.

An assisted living scheme of 75 apartments for the over 60’s.

A new purpose built 80 bed care home.

A small purpose built office building of approximately 9,000 sq. ft. over 2 floors.

The scheme remains low density with the number of private residential homes less than 5 per acre.

“After listening to local residents at the public consultation we were determined to find solutions to their concerns, so we are absolutely delighted to have received approval from Woking Borough Council for our revised plans on Broadoaks Park.

As we were unable to progress the school project, we have now included a care home, assisted living apartments and a small office building. We have substantially reduced the projected traffic flow, and can still provide local employment opportunities for approximately 145 people.


We have also increased affordable housing units by 50%, bringing up the number of homes from 36 to 54 , all set in 25 acres of private parkland.

The pedestrian crossing across the Parvis Road will ensure safe access from our development to the public playing fields, railway station and town centre, all a short walk away.

The local community will be able to walk freely into Broadoaks Park and enjoy views of the restored Listed buildings and general open spaces we are creating in our master plan.”

Construction of the new and refurbished homes will commence in winter 2018, with a sales and marketing suite scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019. Price guide for private sales from £495,000.
