Sales Gallop at Coach House Mews

May 2011

Just after Councillor Barry Cheyne, Mayor of Elmbridge (seen here with Octagon’s Chairman David James and CEO Colin Tutt), officially opened Coach House Mews, Octagon’s sensitively converted courtyard development situated in Grade II Listed Whiteley Village, two of the completed homes were snapped up by purchasers, eager to be amongst the first to move in to this idyllic development.

The Mayor was joined by several Elmbridge Councillors, Whiteley Village Trustees and members of the Press, and during the ensuing reception, he congratulated Octagon ‘on their successful conversion of the old estate stable blocks, in this quintessential English village.’

Octagon, best known for their large family houses with built in leisure suites and cinema rooms, are answering a new and growing need from sophisticated downsizers, with this innovative scheme of sixteen super cottages overlooking a tranquil landscaped courtyard garden.

Available for sale to purchasers where the principal occupier is 60 years of age or older, the new Octagon enclave has its own concierge, and direct access onto the Seven Hills Road, but purchasers will be able to use all the facilities within Whiteley Village, for a small annual service charge.

The scheme involved conserving, converting and modernising some existing buildings and stores into traditional style cottages, with either 2 or 3 large bedrooms.  The interiors however, are refreshingly contemporary, with light-filled open plan living spaces, eat-in kitchens, and sumptuously fitted bedrooms and designer bathrooms.

Top quality specification includes luxury marble hallways and bathrooms, underfloor heated ground floors, bespoke kitchen units with a full range of integrated appliances, fitted bedroom wardrobes, intelligent bathroom storage, and fitted carpets throughout. Each property has the latest insulation, full security alarm system, and the added benefit of a private garage with automated doors.

Housed in an office on site will be a concierge, who will be linked to all cottages and there to support and assist with all residents’ needs.
A perfect rural environment to enjoy life, which is still only 10 minutes drive to the buzz and bustle of Weybridge High Street or 30 minutes train ride (Walton on Thames SW Trains) into central London.

Prices at Coach House Mews start from £575,000 with leases of 150 years. Call Knight Frank 01372 464496
