Octagon Rowing Day a (R)OARing Success

04/07/2016

Octagon, the East Molesey based luxury house developer, rekindled relations with their riverside neighbours Molesey Boat Club on Wednesday 18th May, for a corporate rowing day with local agents and other esteemed guests. The team welcomed budding rowers from Knight Frank, Savills, Grosvenor Billinghurst, Aston Mead, Searls Land, Aspreys, TGV Design and Think Media, and the Boat Club pros were on hand to give participants a crash course in this challenging watersport.

Split into four teams of 8, the fledging rowers took to the water, all being expertly guided by their coxes. After some much needed practicing, the teams came together for some nail biting races, with the winning team members each receiving a bottle of bubbly- the losers had to settle for a bottle of Lucozade.

Simon Kay from Molesey Boat Club, comments: “We were delighted to welcome Octagon back onto the water after their successful event in 2015, they have been great supporters of the Boat Club over the years. It’s always lovely to be able to introduce people to the sport, and we enjoyed showing off our brand new, state-of-the-art indoor rowing tank, which is perfect for pre-race practicing!”

Kate Hancock, Group Marketing Manager at Octagon Developments, comments: “It’s a great day for all involved – we get to catch up with our guests, and the Boat Club members always make the day highly enjoyable. Octagon are proud supporters of this historic sporting association, and we hope there are many more rowing days to come!”
