Top Award For Luxury Housebuilder

Octagon's most exclusive and exceptional property to date, a £15m modern mansion on the exclusive St George's Hill Estate scooped the Gold Award for Best Luxury House at the 2008 What House Awards, considered to be the 'oscars' of the house building industry.

Nestling within 2 acres of fabulously landscaped grounds, this latest Octagon masterpiece offers in excess of 13,000 sq ft of living space, and features an impressive choice of leisure facilities, including his and her swimming pools, a 55' Italian kitchen, and a dazzling mirrored dressing room complete with Swarovski crystal studded lighting.

Tony Taylor, Octagon's Head of Design commented, "This is our largest, most ambitious project to date, where we have incorporated a vast array of new specification and design details. We took inspiration for the exterior from the great belle Èpoque villas lining the Mediterranean, in refreshing contrast to the interior design, which is slick and contemporary. Probably one of the most exciting challenges for my design team, so we are absolutely delighted to have won the top gong at this year's What House Awards."

The brief for Octagon's in-house team was to create a house which would offer both grand entertaining and informal family living, therefore award winning Hill House Interiors were brought in at an early stage to advise on fittings, devise colour schemes, wallpapers, tiling and commission bespoke cabinetry.

The property was sold this year to an international businessman who will be taking up residence with his family and live in staff.
